Michael & Stacy Spickes are the cofounders of List for Kids and have actively sold real estate in Austin, Texas and the surrounding areas since 2002.  They are licensed Realtors with Realty Austin, one of Austin’s leading real estate firms, and are members of the National Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, and the Austin Board of Realtors.  Proud Austinites since the early 1980s, they know and have assisted hundreds of families through the process of selling and buying real estate and are now considered one of Austin’s leading real estate couples.  With their entrepreneurial drive and philanthropic zest for giving back the community, and particularly children in need, Michael & Stacy introduced List for Kids in the summer of 2011 with one purpose; to create a powerful life-changing conduit that changes and saves lives of children and their families through the sale of real estate.

So, how did the List for Kids initiative come to be what it is today?  At some point, nearly everyone needs to sell or buy real estate.  Every single day, millions of dollars are being transacted in real estate and for most homeowners needing to sell their home, a real estate professional is hired to broker the transaction.  Upon a successful closing, the real estate broker is paid a fee or percentage of the sales price.  Through the List for Kids initiative, a portion of the compensation being paid to the broker will be funneled to a charity of your choice.  This contribution will be a line item on the final HUD-1 statement at closing.
